I’m currently a software engineer at Google research where we study user behaviors using machine learning with rich data and computing power. Previously I’m a data/applied scientist at Microsoft. I obtained my Ph.D in Statistics at Cornell University supervised by Prof. Yang Ning. My interests span widely on statistics and machine learning. Broadly, I have experience in high-dimensional statistical estimation and inference, classic and deep machine learning models, graphical models, adversarial robustness in computer vision, natural language processing, contextual bandits and offline reinforcement learning.
Before my Ph.D, I received dual Bachelor’s degrees from Cornell University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. I feel fortunate to graduate from Chengdu No.7 high school where I met my wife. Apart from my research, I am a clarinetist and basketball enthusiast.
